General Information on How our Club Operates

Our mission is to promote and coordinate golf activities, fellowship, and friendliness among women golfers.

Our club’s main method for communicating club news and events will be through Member Planet, which is hosted by NCGA.

Your membership entitles you to play with any or all of the following groups

Tues. 18-Hole Seniors (50+): Call the Pro Shop for starting time.

Thurs. 18-Hole: See monthly calendars for starting time.

Sign-up sheets for each group are out on our play days and are otherwise located in a binder at the Pro Shop desk. You can also call the pro shop to sign up two weeks in advance.

Please arrive at least 20 minutes before your scheduled tee time or you may be subject to reassignment. PLEASE call the Pro Shop if you are unable to make your tee time!!

To play in any of our tee times you must enter sweeps. Sign-in slips and sweeps money ( $5.00) must be deposited by completion of the first 9 holes. During play, if you “pick up”, record an “X” in front of your score for that hole and record an “NR” (no return) in the Net column of the scorecard.

After completing your round, each group must turn in ONE complete, Accurate, signed and attested scorecard to the Tournament Directors. The scorecard should be signed by all players in your group and are to include last names alphabetically, gross scores, course handicaps, net scores and date. Afterward, post your adjusted score hole by hole on the computer or on your Smartphone (app: GHIN mobile).

Winners are determined based on the format of the day. Winnings for the Thursday group are placed on ledger books kept by the Tournament Director and distributed at the holiday luncheon. (You may check these books at any time.)
Senior’s winnings are paid out on the day of play. Please check the requirements for entering major tournaments in our “Standing Rules” (can be found on the website). If times are available, you may follow the field if not participating in the tournament.

In addition to our weekly Sweeps, the Thursday Tournament and Seniors each have an optional “Birdie Tree” with a $5.00 participation fee. This “Birdie Tree” sheets are located on the bulletin board in the hallway of the Pro Shop. There is one for the Seniors and another for the Thursday 18-Hole group. Each time you score a birdie on a play day, write your name, date and hole # on the appropriate sheet. Awards are given at end of the year.

The Thursday group has an optional “chip-in” game, paid weekly. Put in a quarter and sign your name on list next to pot. If you receive a chip-in, you get the money (shared if more than one chips-in). FYI -- If the ball rolls off the green while you’re putting, your next shot is considered a putt and does not qualify as a chip-in. A second optional game is the “Closest to the pin”. Put in a quarter and sign your name on the CTP list. This weekly
game rotates monthly between the par 3’s. The closest to the pin on a given week wins the pot. Another optional CTP game on Thursdays on hole #7 is a 50 cents entry.

Our club issues pins for members who break 70, 80, 90, or 100 for the first time on a scheduled Windsor play day. Please let the tournament directors know if you accomplish one of these milestones! Also, if you receive a “Hole-In-One” on a Windsor play day you will receive a $100.00 award and have your name engraved on the permanent plaque.

The Windsor Women’s Golf Club traditionally hosts an Invitational or a Super Guest Day. Check the calendar to see when it is scheduled for this year. Invite your friends from other clubs to join us for some fun on the course!

There are additional opportunities to play golf and meet new ladies through NCGA tournaments. Go to the NCGA website to sign up for tournaments. Contact the WWGC NCGA Ambassador if you have any questions.

Board meetings are held 6 times per year (usually on the patio at the Pro Shop or at Jimmy’s Lakeside Cafe) immediately after play. All members are welcome to attend these Board Meetings, and also three of these meetings are General Membership Meetings.
